American Federal Benefits Consultants (“Company” or “we” or “us” or “our”) respects the privacy of its users (“user” or “you”) who use our website located at https://americanfederal.org/, including other media forms, media channels, mobile websites, or mobile applications related or connected thereto (collectively, the “Website”). This Privacy Policy is designed to inform you about the types of information that Company may gather or collect from you in connection with your use of the Website. It also explains the conditions under which Company uses and discloses that information and your rights in relation to that information. Changes to this Privacy Policy are discussed at the end of this document. Each time you use the Website, the current version of this Privacy Policy will apply. Accordingly, each time you use the Website, you should check the date of this Privacy Policy and review any changes since the last time you used the Website.

The Website is hosted in the United States of America and is subject to U.S. state and federal law. If you are accessing our Website from another jurisdiction, please be advised that you are transferring your personal information to us in the United States, and by using our Website, you consent to that transfer and use of your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. You also agree to abide by applicable state and U.S. federal laws concerning your use of the Website and your agreements with us. Persons accessing our Website from a jurisdiction with different laws or regulations governing Internet use, including personal data collection, use, and disclosure, may use the Website only in a manner lawful in their jurisdiction. GATHERING, USE, AND DISCLOSURE OF NON-PERSONALLY-IDENTIFYING INFORMATION

Users of the Website Generally

“Non-Personally-Identifying Information” is information that, without the aid of additional information, cannot be directly associated with a specific person. “Personally-Identifying Information,” by contrast, is information such as a name or email address that, without more, can be directly associated with a specific person. Like most website operators, Company gathers from users of the Website Non-Personally-Identifying Information of the sort that web browsers, depending on their settings, may make available. That information includes the user’s Internet Protocol (IP) address, operating system, browser type, and the locations of the websites the user views right before arriving at, while navigating, and immediately after leaving the Website. Although such information is not Personally-Identifying Information, it may be possible for Company to determine from an IP address a user’s Internet service provider and geographic location, as well as other statistical usage data. Company analyzes Non-Personally-Identifying Information to better understand how the Website is being used and to improve users’ experiences. From time to time, Company may release such information in aggregate form, such as by publishing a report on trends in Website usage.

Web Cookies

A “Web Cookie” is a string of information that assigns you a unique identification, which a website stores on a user’s computer and the user’s browser provides to the website each time the user submits a query. We use cookies on the Website to keep track of services you have used, record registration information regarding your login name and password, record user preferences, keep you logged into the Website, and facilitate purchase procedures. Company also uses Web Cookies to track pages visited during each Website session, improve user experiences, and understand how the Website is being used. Company analyzes and discloses information gathered using Web Cookies in aggregated form.

USERS WHO DO NOT WISH TO HAVE WEB COOKIES PLACED ON THEIR COMPUTERS SHOULD SET THEIR BROWSERS TO REFUSE WEB COOKIES BEFORE ACCESSING THE WEBSITE, WITH THE UNDERSTANDING THAT CERTAIN WEBSITE FEATURES MAY NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY WITHOUT THEM. Third-Party Advertisers

We may use third-party advertising companies to serve ads when you visit the Website. These companies may use information, not including Personally-Identifying Information, about your visits to the Website and other websites contained in Web Cookies to provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you. You may learn about or exercise advertising choices through the Network Advertising Initiative or Digital Advertising Alliance. Please contact us if you would like to know the identity of third-party advertising companies we are currently using to serve ads.

We may allow advertisers to choose characteristics of users who will see their advertisements, and we may use Non-Personally-Identifying Information we have collected to select the appropriate audience for those advertisements. We do not identify you to the advertiser.

Web Beacons

A “Web Beacon” is an object embedded in a web page or email that is usually invisible to the user and allows website operators to check whether a user viewed a particular page or email. Company may use Web Beacons on the Website and in emails to count users who visited particular pages, viewed emails, and received co-branded services. Web Beacons are not used to access users’ Personally-Identifying Information. They compile aggregated statistics and collect only a limited set of information, including a Web Cookie number, time and date of a page or email view, and a description of the page or email. You may render Web Beacons ineffective by declining all Web Cookies or configuring your browser to notify you when a Web Cookie is offered.

Analytics

We may use third-party vendors, including Google, that use first-party and third-party cookies to analyze and track data, determine the popularity of content, understand online activity, and inform or optimize advertising based on past Website activity. You may use the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or manage settings through Google My Ad Center.

Aggregated and Non-Personally-Identifying Information

We may share aggregated and Non-Personally-Identifying Information collected under the circumstances described above. We may also share it with third parties and affiliate companies to develop and deliver targeted advertising on the Website and third-party websites. We may combine this information with additional Non-Personally-Identifying Information collected from other sources and share aggregated information with advisors, advertisers, and investors for general business analysis. This information does not contain Personally-Identifying Information.

Mobile Device Additional Terms

• Mobile Device. If you use a mobile device to access the Website or download an application, we may collect device information such as mobile device ID, model, manufacturer, operating system, version information, and IP address.
• Geo-Location Information. Unless we receive prior consent, we do not access or track precise location-based information from your mobile device, except that we may determine a general geographic location from an IP address.
• Push Notifications. We send push notifications if you choose to receive them. You may turn them off in your device settings.
• Mobile Analytics. We may use mobile analytics software to understand mobile software functionality. It may record usage frequency, events, aggregated usage, performance data, and download source. We do not link information stored within analytics software to Personally-Identifying Information submitted through the mobile application.

SOCIAL MEDIA

We may provide the option to connect your Website account to an account on a social networking site for logging in, uploading information, or enabling features. When logging in with social network credentials, we may collect Personally-Identifying Information you made publicly available, such as your name, profile picture, cover photo, username, gender, friends network, age range, locale, friend list, and other public information. Once connected, other users may be able to see information about your social network. By connecting accounts, you consent to the release of information to us in accordance with the social network’s controls and permissions. Available features and shared information are subject to change.

We may use hyperlinks that redirect you to social networks. When you activate a social plug-in, your browser connects directly to that provider’s servers, and the provider may receive information such as your IP address, browser version, screen resolution, and operating system. Privacy settings for those social networks are outside our control.

COLLECTION, USE, AND DISCLOSURE OF PERSONALLY-IDENTIFYING INFORMATION

Website Registration

Personally-Identifying Information is information that can be directly associated with a specific person. Company may collect a range of Personally-Identifying Information from and about Website users. Much of it is provided by users when registering for a service, logging in with social network credentials, participating in polls, contests, surveys, or other features, responding to offers or advertisements, communicating with us, creating a public profile, or signing up for newsletters. That information may include a user’s name, address, email address, and telephone number and, if you transact business with us, financial information such as a payment method. We may also request information about interests and activities, gender, age, date of birth, username, hometown, and other relevant information. Users are not obligated to provide Personally-Identifying Information, but refusal may prevent use of certain Website features.

BY REGISTERING WITH OR USING THE WEBSITE, YOU CONSENT TO THE USE AND DISCLOSURE OF YOUR PERSONALLY-IDENTIFYING INFORMATION AS DESCRIBED IN THIS SECTION, SUBJECT TO THE SPECIFIC SMS PRIVACY RESTRICTIONS BELOW.

Online Postings

Certain Personally-Identifying Information may be disclosed as a result of your use of Website areas where you can post reviews or other information. Such postings may appear on other websites or in search results. Whenever you voluntarily disclose personal information on publicly viewable pages, it becomes publicly available and may be collected and used by others. We cannot control who reads your posting or what others do with information you voluntarily post. Users assume responsibility for any loss of privacy or other harm resulting from voluntary public disclosure.

Company Communications

We may occasionally use your name and email address to send notifications about services we believe may be valuable. We may also send service-related announcements. Generally, you may opt out of marketing emails at registration, through account settings, or via an unsubscribe link, though we reserve the right to send account, service, and administrative notices. SMS text messages are governed separately by the SMS Text Messaging Privacy section below.

SMS Data Exclusion from General Disclosures

The disclosures described below do not apply to mobile telephone numbers, text messaging originator opt-in data, or SMS consent information. No mobile information or SMS consent information will be shared with third parties, affiliates, or lead generators for marketing or promotional purposes. Such information may be provided only to operational service providers that help deliver or administer the SMS program, subject to restrictions on their use.

Company Disclosures

Company may disclose Personally-Identifying Information under the following circumstances, always subject to the SMS Data Exclusion above:

• By Law or to Protect Rights. We may disclose Personally-Identifying Information to investigate, prevent, or act regarding illegal activity, suspected fraud, or wrongdoing; protect Company, users, employees, or others; comply with applicable law or cooperate with law enforcement; enforce our Terms of Use or other agreements; respond to a subpoena, court order, investigative demand, or government request; establish or exercise legal rights; or defend against legal claims.
• Marketing Communications. Unless users opt out, Company may email users about products and services it believes may be of interest. Users may opt out through the unsubscribe link, account settings if applicable, or by contacting us. This provision does not permit marketing use or sharing of mobile numbers or SMS opt-in data.
• Third-Party Marketing Communications. Where permitted by law and consistent with the choices presented to users, Company may provide users’ email information to third parties for marketing. Users may opt out through account settings if applicable or by contacting us. This provision applies to email information only and does not permit sharing mobile telephone numbers, SMS opt-in data, or SMS consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
• Third-Party Service Providers. We may share Personally-Identifying Information, including name and contact information, with authorized service providers that perform services on our behalf. These may include fulfilling orders, customer service, business and sales analysis, Website support, payment processing, and administration of features. Providers may access information needed to perform their functions but may not use it for another purpose. Mobile information and SMS consent may be shared only with operational providers supporting our SMS program and may not be used for their own marketing or promotional purposes.
• Business Transfers; Bankruptcy. Company may transfer Personally-Identifying Information to a successor organization in a merger, acquisition, bankruptcy, or sale of assets. Use and disclosure of transferred information will remain subject to this Privacy Policy unless you are notified of a new policy and given any legally required choices. Any transfer of mobile information and SMS opt-in data remains subject to the SMS restrictions stated in this policy.

Changing Personally-Identifying Information; Account Termination

You may review or change Personally-Identifying Information through account settings, if applicable, or by contacting us. Upon request, we will deactivate or delete your account and contact information from active databases as soon as practicable, subject to account activity, our deactivation policy, and applicable law. We may retain some information to prevent fraud, troubleshoot problems, assist investigations, enforce Terms of Use, and comply with legal requirements. You should not expect that all information will be completely removed where retention is permitted or required by law. We may keep a history of changed information to investigate suspected fraud.

General Use

Company uses Personally-Identifying Information and other information obtained from current and past activities to deliver requested products and services; manage accounts and provide customer support; communicate by email, postal mail, telephone, and, only where separately consented, SMS; develop and display content and advertising tailored to interests; resolve disputes and troubleshoot problems; measure consumer interest; provide updates; customize experiences; detect and protect against error, fraud, and criminal activity; enforce Terms of Use; and act as otherwise described at collection. We may compare and review information for accuracy and to detect errors and omissions. Financial information may be used to process payments, administer elected programs, protect against fraudulent transactions, and manage our business. Nothing in this paragraph authorizes sharing mobile telephone numbers or SMS opt-in data for third-party or affiliate marketing.

COLLECTION AND USE OF INFORMATION BY THIRD PARTIES GENERALLY

This section does not authorize disclosure of mobile telephone numbers, text messaging originator opt-in data, or SMS consent information for third-party or affiliate marketing or promotional purposes.

Company contractually prohibits contractors, vendors, and suppliers from disclosing Personally-Identifying Information received from Company except in accordance with this Privacy Policy. Third parties are not governed by this Privacy Policy for information users provide directly to them or that they collect independently. These third parties may include advertisers, utilities, widgets, and other applications accessible through the Website. Company neither owns nor controls third-party websites and applications. Before visiting a third party or using a third-party application, users should review that party’s privacy policies and practices and take appropriate steps to protect their privacy.

SECURITY

We take the security of Personally-Identifying Information seriously and use reasonable electronic, personnel, and physical measures to protect it from loss, theft, alteration, or misuse. However, even the best security measures cannot eliminate all risks. We cannot guarantee that only authorized persons will view information and are not responsible for third-party circumvention of privacy settings or security measures.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of account credentials. You should change your password immediately and notify us if you believe someone gained unauthorized access to your account.

PRIVACY POLICY CHANGES

Company may change this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page, and the date of the current version will be stated at the top. Unless stated otherwise, the current Privacy Policy applies to all information we have about you and your account. Users should check this page regularly. Company may also notify users of changes by email or another method, so it is important to maintain current contact information.

CHILDREN

The Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”) protects the online privacy of children under 13. We do not knowingly collect or maintain Personally-Identifying Information from anyone under 13 except as permitted by law. A person who provides Personally-Identifying Information through the Website represents that they are 13 or older. If we learn that information was collected from a child under 13, we will take appropriate steps to delete it. A parent or legal guardian may contact us to request deletion.

CALIFORNIA PRIVACY RIGHTS

California Civil Code Section 1798.83, known as the “Shine the Light” law, permits California residents to request, once per year and free of charge, information about certain Personally-Identifying Information disclosed to third parties for direct marketing during the preceding calendar year. If applicable, this information includes categories of information shared and the names and addresses of third parties. California residents may submit a written request to the Privacy Officer listed below.

DO-NOT-TRACK POLICY

Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems include a Do-Not-Track (“DNT”) setting that can signal a preference not to have online browsing activities monitored and collected. Because there is not yet a common standard for interpreting DNT signals, the Website currently does not respond to them.
